About CLP
CLP is a community anchor organisation based in Eastwood, Rotherham. We work alongside Roma Slovak communities, other Eastern European migrants, asylum seekers and refugees, supporting people facing poverty, exclusion and inequality.
Founded in 2011, CLP has grown into a trusted, locally rooted organisation supporting over 3,000 people each year. Our strength lies in long-term relationships, cultural understanding and trust. Many of our staff live locally, speak community languages and share lived experience with the people they support, enabling meaningful engagement and effective support.

Our vision is a thriving local community where people are happy, safe and healthy.
Our purpose is to support adults, young people and children to thrive within their community.
We believe that communities are not ‘hard to reach’; rather, systems are often hard to access. Our role is to remove barriers, build trust and ensure support is delivered in ways that are culturally safe, respectful and relevant.
Our Approach
We take a bottom-up, user-led approach to everything we do. We work from where people are at, adapting our services in response to community feedback and changing needs.
Our work is grounded in lived experience, cultural competence and long-term presence. We invest in people, employ local staff, and take time to build trust. This allows us to respond early, prevent crisis and support lasting change rather than short-term fixes.
What We Do
Advice and Advocacy
We help people navigate complex systems and access their rights.
Children, Young People and Families
We deliver youth clubs, playgroups, holiday activities and NEET support, helping children and families build confidence, stability and aspiration.
Community Development and Wellbeing
We provide trusted, informal groups such as English conversation classes, IT groups and sewing groups that reduce isolation, build skills and support wellbeing.
Food and Poverty Support
We address food insecurity through our social supermarket and work closely with partners to support people experiencing financial hardship.
Employability and Skills
We support people to develop skills, confidence and pathways into education, training and employment.
Our Impact
Each year we support over 3,000 people, with around 150 people engaging with our services each week. Our work helps people feel safer, more confident and more connected, improves access to rights and services, strengthens community voice and supports progression into education, employment, volunteering and leadership.
